Three Baptisms

First Baptism – ________________– baptized into the Body of Christ.

(1 Corinthians 12:13 NLT) “We have all been baptized into one body by one Spirit…”

Second Baptism – ____________ Baptism.

(Matthew 28:19 NIV) “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…”

And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability.”

“Wealth” By: Pastor James

Tough topic, because there are two camps within Christendom regarding “wealth.”

• Whatever God’s will is, that’s what you’ll get
  • This doesn’t motivate us to pray or believe
• God wants you well supplied
  • This gets us closer to God, because we connect with Him due to the way we believe about Him

God wants His people prosperous.

• It’s not been God’s promise that was off, it’s been our believing.
  • “Jesus was poor”
    • Anytime He had need of anything, it was provided. What is the definition of “poor” to you? It’s not that.
    • How many of us have a treasurer that follows us around?

God intended money to come to and thru you!

You’re God’s way in.

• Scripture references for knowing His will.
  • Defining God’s will
    • Scripture
    • Holy Spirit
    • Romans 12:2 NKJV – And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
      • That you may prove: to approve; to deem worthy; to see whether a thing is genuine or not
        • Your example here on earth was meant to prove God’s good and perfect will to others.
        • You were meant to be pointed at for your substance here.
        • You were created to prove the goodness of God to others as the approval of the promise to His people. You deem God worthy by the way He blesses you.

You were created for money to come to and thru to prove His will.

• Colossians 1:26, 27 NKJV – The mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints. To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
  • This says it all. Christ in you is where the riches for your life exist.
  • That need that you have resides in you already. You already have the potential to see it in the natural, because it exists in you.
    • Example: When you cash out at the grocery store, what do you do? Reach to your back pocket and pull out your wallet. This is the same concept.
    • How do you pull it out and use it?
      • Pull out Colossians 1:26,27 – “What I need is in you, Jesus. And you are in me. I pull out your blessing on my situation right now.”
      • This is believing without seeing yet. Faith. This pleases God.

You can have it, as long as it doesn’t have you. ~ Pastor Sarah

Psalm 112:2-3 NKJV – His descendants will be mighty on earth; The generation of the upright will be blessed. Wealth and riches will be in his house, And his righteousness endures forever.

• Generation of the upright – the generation of Jesus. It’s defined better in NT now, because we know Who the upright is. Jesus. In us.
• House- receptacle -
  • Like a soap dispenser. God adds, and it’s always full for others to use
• Righteousness- of Davidic King Messiah
  • “and His Son endures in you forever”
• What’s being said here: You will be blessed. Wealth and riches will be at your disposal, and He endures in you forever!

God’s intent is to get it to you so it can go thru you and prove Him.

The natural (human) principles work

• Luke 6:38 – Give and it will be given…don’t give, and the blessing (covenant) still exists, however you will only have the one promise not both.
  • God won’t allow His principles to go without fulfillment.
  • Sometimes things get held up in the spirit realm or in the human realm. Wouldn’t you want the ability to still receive when the enemy is holding something up? Then, put the principles to practice.
• You attract the blessing of God when Jesus lives in you. What about the blessing here on earth? There’s an earthly part to this. God wants you to sow here on earth to bless His people.
  • Stats: 7% of Christians “tithe”.  The average amount that Christians give equals 2.5%.
    • Christians aren’t putting to practice the principles, and can’t seem to answer the bigger question of “why am I behind?”

The Solomon “if” principle:

• Solomon prays
  • 1 Kings 3:9 NKJV – Therefore give to Your servant an understanding heart to judge Your people, that I may discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?
• God answers
  • 1 Kings 3:13, 14 NKJV – And I have also given you what you have not asked: both riches and honor, so that there shall not be anyone like you among the kings all your days. So ifyou walk in My ways, to keep My statutes and My commandments, as your father David walked, then I will lengthen your days.
    • God gave him more than he asked. In wisdom and discernment is where Solomon found wealth.
      • Sometimes we might be over focused on wealth, because the problem is our finances. We need to get our focus on the right things, and God will add the rest. If the problem is your finances, we’re still supposed to look at the answer instead of the problem. Jesus in you is the answer.
        • Focused on the problem Example: hijacking God
          • Guy in Seattle
          • Guy at church office
          • God isn’t moved by need, He’s moved by faith! ~ Pastor Sarah
        • “If” – Solomon gets off to a great start. God mentions at least three times the benefits that He gave Solomon for such a request. The “if” shows up again in 1 Kings 9:4. His reminder.
• Then chapter 11comes around. In short, Solomon put his women and their gods in his kingdom and they became an idol to him.
  • God gives wisdom to get wealth, but its still up to us to remember the “if“. We see that the “if” is the over abundance that God wants to get to us here on earth.
  • This is the portion that brings you into the picture. God will bless because you have Jesus (the full blessing already inside you), you attract blessing and wealth already. The “if” is the human things that we can do to put God first instead of idols that pop up in our life.
    • Giving plays into your wealth here in the “if“.
  • Solomon loses control of his kingdom. The “if” was out of place. He lost sight.
• Interesting that God still blessed in 1 Kings 11:13 because of David, Solomon’s father. Because of David, God blessed, but it wasn’t as big as He wanted.
  • Same picture of Jesus in us. David is known as the blood line of Christ. This presents a picture of Jesus and the blessing that God tracks us down with just due to His Son.
  • The “if” is our part to stay on point here and attract blessing on us due to our own will and choice.
  • There are two sides to the promise. God’s side and our side.
    • The big human “if” turns into God’s huge promise
      • Malachi 3:10 NKJV – Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, That there may be food in My house, And try Me now in this, Says the Lord of hosts, If I will not open for you the windows of heaven And pour out for you such blessing That  there will not be room enough to receive it.
        • Receptacle; dispenser - Psalm 112
        • God’s “if” has promise!

God always intended money to come to you so it can go thru you.

Story of wisdom for wealth in the givers life:

• Testimony of big investment that went wrong
• A giver receives wisdom to save him.
• Wealth isn’t always new money, sometimes it’s saved money.

Some of the blessing takes activation to receive…faith activates

• Ways to get there:
  • Remember all the resources are in you already
  • Prayer of who He is that lives in you
  • Praise before you see the victory
  • Practice what He’s called us to do in scripture

• He’s still lining you up right now.
  • He still has a plan to show His covenant in you, even if it doesn’t seem like the plan is taking affect.
  • He’s working it. You might even look behind in the natural, but God is working His plan. The worst thing you could do is get negative, complain, and give up.

Application:

• Do something different – put a seed in the ground so your “if” promise can grow.
• Dedicate some prayer time to just glorify God that His plan is taking place for you. He is coming around the bend in your situation, because Jesus lives within you!
  • As Pastor Tracy said last week, “The blessing is attracted to Jesus in you.”

God cares about the little things

I have been wanting to get another racquet for playing racquet ball. I just started playing again and the kids took an interest in playing too, so I had planned on getting a racquet this week, sometime soon, but it wasn’t in the budget as of yet. Also, I have been wanting an air mattress for whenever we go camping (also another thing we enjoy as a family, but lack equipment).  A customer of mine had a box of things they were giving away and in that box today was a racquet ball racquet (not tennis, which is usually the more popular sport), and a queen size air mattress. Both items were in perfect condition!! Also they gave me a beautiful feather bed that I have always wanted, but once again not exactly in the budget. This is just one of the little things that God likes to surprise me with. He totally cares about all the little things and also the things that bring a family closer! When we do those activities, our family bond grows stronger and is healthier! Amen!

God is good and cares about the little things.  Hand your cares to Him, He will never let you down.

The heart of a miracle

Last year, when I saw the Cardiologist, he explained to me that he would want a test done in May to see if there has been any improvement in my heart function. He said he hoped to see 100% improvement and then went on to explain that what that means is….” The left side of your heart is only working at 30% function. If we see it go up to 60% function that is considered 100% improvement. So, last week I went and had my echo-cardiogram done like he asked, and today I find out that not only did I have 100% improvement, but my heart is functioning absolutely normally!!

AS IF NOTHING EVER HAPPENED!!
God is so good!!!!!!!!!!

My time at Life Christian

I have been attending this church since Life Christian (LCC) took over. I was part of the Fisherman’s Home Church congregation prior as well. God has blessed me financially and personally since my salvation.The one blessing that stands above any personal or financial blessing is how God is building a relationship with me. The message at LCC is grounded in building a personal relationship with God. My early training in “religion” taught me about a judgmental God. My earthly father continued to be a judgmental dictator who was critical of most everything I did. I learned to tune out fathers.
I now look forward to starting my day in God’s presence. Praising and asking for His guidance to perform His will in my life. My days start happier, I am more receptive to what is given to me and I do not dread another day on the job.
I am grateful to LCC for introducing me to a father who not only says He loves me, but also acts like He loves me. I can feel His love, and I look forward to each day so that I can grow in that relationship with Him.

Our family has been so bless with the CTWG, specially on the beginning of this year 2012. GOD has spoke so clear to our hearts that we truly believed he has a great plan for us and our blessings will be pour out on us as we seek him and put him first in our lives. Prayer is the key to accessing God’s purpose, provision, significance

• 1 Peter 1:2-3 He has given us all things that pertain to life and Godliness through the knowledge of Jesus: reading the Word is hearing God’s voice
• Psalm 16:11 In his presence is fullness
• Psalm 23:5 He anoints my head with oil

In His presence there is fullness. When we consistently go to God’s presence Yokes are being destroyed and things are growing inside of us.

Time: Is the most expensive commodity; once it’s spent you can never get it back.

It takes time to have a relationship with God

Where we spend our time reflects our priorities

The way we see ourselves, influences where we spend our time

• If we see ourselves insecure, on the outside we will spend time towards things that make us feel accepted or in: Shopping, gossip, keeping up with the Jones, lists, productivity; we are trying to find our identity in this stuff!
• If we see ourselves with out purpose we fill our time with distractions avoid depression
• If we see ourselves as worthless or I’ve done to much harm to my life or it ever to amount to anything we will our time with addictions to numb the pain
• I saw myself behind unable to be like the rest of the bunch so I filled my time with achieving, lists, productivity….It made me feel good about myself

The way we perceive God, affects if we spend time with God

• Example: Spending time with relatives over the holidays
• We go because of obligation/guilt, because we are suppose to even though we don’t find it interesting or beneficial to our life.
  • Because we’ve been in environments that made God out to be un-relate-able/uninteresting we don’t see the value in being with Him
  • Then the guilt trip comes of what you haven’t or should have done
  • In services where I was saying, “Shut up!” If you stop now I can go home!
  • It wasn’t until I sat under teachers who gave the revelation of the goodness of God and broke down the word practically did I find delight in going to His Word. That Word transformed my image of God;  I wanted to go to Him

• If we don’t feel loved and accepted; If we see ourselves unworthy we are hindered from wanting to be with God.
  • It’s not just spending time but making sure our approach is in faith; faith in His finished work on the Cross for us – His absolute goodness!
  • I was going to His presence because I thought I had to earn His acceptance

Where we spend our time determines our quality of life: the Word = filter

We can’t afford to miss time with God. A lack of time is a lack of direction, lack of answers, lack of power.

Take time with prayer; it =

• Enemies turn back

Psalm 9:3

When my enemies turn back, They shall fall and perish at Your presence.

• Bondages fall off

Psalm 23:5

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over.

Psalm 16:11

In your presence is fullness of Joy

• Live

Proverbs 4:5

• Chayah: to live, have life, remain alive, sustain life, live prosperously, live for ever, be quickened, be alive, be restored to life or health

• Preserve: shamar- guard as a garden, sheep, or home. Observe, take head protect, save life, restrain, abstain,

• Glory: noun- beauty, splendor, finery as in garments ad jewels, ornament

• Direction

• Way: direction, habit, course of life, moral character
• Paths: magal- trench-it’s fixed….God has a fixed path

• Life and Health

Proverbs 4:20-22

My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. ²¹ Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart;
²² For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh

CTWG: “Consistent” week 2

• God wants to hear from you and spend time with you. Not just once, but consistently.
  • He’s happy with anything you give Him. Theres not a requirement of the amount of time that you have to spend. I always tell the students, God is excited about every second that you spend with Him.
  • The hardest part for most people is “consistency”
• We get caught up with our work, schedule, or sleep and we can’t seem to get our quiet time in. Maybe we even pray on the way to work and call it good. You see God loves that, but there’s more for you.
  • Caught up “doing” instead of “being”
    • Doing
      • Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. (James 1:22-25 NIV)
        • Doer of the Word…without the Word
        • Running ahead without checking in
        • Getting your hands dirty before knowing where to put them
      • Being
        • The righteousness of God in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:21)
        • All wisdom and revelation is yours (Ephesians 1:17-19)
        • The head and not the tail (Deuteronomy 28:13)
  • The battle is between your ears, but you’ve been trying to handle it with your hands
• Mindset- fixed mental attitude that predetermines an interpretation of a situation
  • Perception is reality…that’s scary
  • Consistency will change your mindset
  • Knowing His intent, knowing His will, thinking like He thinks…through His Word
    • Jesus and the Word are one in the same. (John 1:1) When you spend time in the Word, you are implanting Jesus, His thoughts, intentions, and motives into yourself.

• Matthew 6:33 (KJV)- But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
  • “seek” – to aim; to strive after
  • “first” – proton- the positive part of the group/molecule
    • Seeking Him “first” puts a positive, Jesus type spin on everything that you think and experience.
    • First is the key. Even your giving is considered a first fruit. It puts a positive spin on your finances.
    • This is why many people do their CTWG in the morning. It’s “first” in their schedule.
  • “kingdom” – not to be confused with an actual kingdom but rather the right or authorityto rule over a kingdom
    • God wants His territory back! And its gotta come through you.
    • The kingdom on earth was designed to be ruled by you. In the garden was the original intent. So, there was a setback in the garden. There was a push forward at the cross and resurrection.
      • It’s time to take back the kingdom, take back the educational system, take back our workplace, take it back!
      • You are in authority in this kingdom here on earth.

• All these things will be added unto you:  It’s not just about you being blessed, it’s about you finishing your course. If you were to quit ministry today, God would still bless you. But the course set before you wouldn’t be completed.
  • Added unto you is a byproduct of your consistent walk with God. It’s not the purpose, but it’s absolutely the byproduct.

Elijah:

The Lord appeared to Elijah and asked, “What are you doing HERE, Elijah?” (1 Kin. 19:9). Elijah wasn’t “THERE” anymore. His place called “THERE” was back in Samaria.

That means Elijah failed in two-thirds of the things the Lord told him to do.

Elijah went on to prophesy (1 Kin. 21:17-24), and he called the fire of God down two more times (2 Kin. 1:9-12).

• When I think about Elijah, I don’t know about you, but in my life 2/3rds would be a pretty good accomplishment. Maybe the saints in the room have done better, but for me this is great news.
  • It reminds me of the movie Dumb and Dumber. “so, you’re saying there’s a chance…”
    • Much more than a chance…there’s a promise.
    • You didn’t screw up enough to deny you the promise.
    • You didn’t screw up enough to not be blessed. You are God’s blessing to this society that you live in.
      • Consistency gets you back in this mindset. The mindset of Jesus and how He feels about you!

(KJV) Luke 22:31-32 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired [to have] you, that he may sift [you] as wheat: But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.

• “Sift as wheat“ – shaken to overthrow
• Satan’s desire is to overthrow you. He works on you in ways that shake your faith. He tells you that you missed it. He gets in your head.
  • But Jesus has prayed even for your faith to be strong.
  • Your consistency cancels that overthrow. It puts you in Jesus’ mindset. It keeps you believing what Jesus believes about you.
• Jesus prayer for His disciples
  • John 17:6-19 – Jesus prays for you and I
    • You’ll see Jesus’ heart in the way He prays for you in John 17.
    • He believes in you, because you are Him here.
    • (John 17:6-8 NIV) – “I have revealed you to those whom you gave me out of the world. They were yours; you gave them to me and they have obeyed your word. Now they know that everything you have given me comes from you. For I gave them the words you gave me and they accepted them. They knew with certainty that I came from you, and they believed that you sent me.
      • Very interesting here, Jesus isn’t telling God about all the mistakes that His guys made. He isn’t telling God about their shakeable faith (at times). He doesn’t mention that it took them awhile to get it.
      • He sees the good in His people. Even as imperfect as they (and we) were/are.
        • “They have obeyed your Word…and they know.”
        • He sees you finished through His finished work.

• Application (where to start in consistency?):
  • The Model (Lord’s) Prayer – prior to Him completely wiping out the enemy
• Worship
  •   Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name.
• Speak to the Mountains:Mark 11:23-24
  •  ¹⁰ Your kingdom come. Your will be done  On earth as it is in heaven.
• Supplication: Matt 7:7 (asking from the position that God already has released it!)
• • ¹¹ Give us this day our daily bread.
• Speak to the mountains in our country, state, family, work, community, church
  • See ourselves forgiven through the finished work of the cross
  • ¹² And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors.
  • Protection: Psalm 91
  • ¹³ And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one.
  • Praise/thanks giving
  • •For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen

God is working from north to south – praise report

Dear Pastor Tracy,
Just wanted to give you a quick praise report. When you last preached at the Troy campus, my nephew was visiting, as he was there to see his parents (my sister and brother in law) get water baptized. During the service you mentioned someone’s shoulder being healed. Today, he went in for his scheduled shoulder surgery, the 2 MRI’s showed a torn rotator cuff. When the surgeon came out of the operating room he reported despite two different doctors reading the MRI’s, when he went into the shoulder there was no tear to be found/repaired. It was at that time my nephew informed us that when you spoke the Word of healing that Sunday, he felt something happen to his shoulder, he knows the Lord healed him during that service. Praise The Lord! Our God is alive and working in his peoples lives, His promises are true and available to us, we need only to believe and receive. I thank God for you and the ministry of LCC. I look forward to seeing you on your next visit home,hope you can feel the spiritual hug I just gave you. You are a wonderful woman of God.

God did it again (twice)

Two Wednesdays ago in youth service at Troy campus, you had people come up if they wanted to believe for something and I did and well, it happened :]

When you called us up I had a lot on my mind and I wanted to just narrow it down to one thing and I chose to believe for clear skin, or to be free from acne. That week I had already started to speak against it whenever I went through my Charles Capps confessions. I would specifically talk against the acne when it got to the sickness section. So I chose that on Wednesday. Well, I kept up on the confessing and speaking against it and ever since that week I haven’t had any problems with my skin. Before I would have to wash my face every night and each morning. I haven’t been washing it at night and I even went a day without washing it in the morning. I have never done that. Ever.

Second testimony is about my knee. At the IT service at the Howell campus, Pastor Anton called up people who needed healing in their knees. A while ago I went to the doctors because I was having severe pain in my knee that came from running. I went up for the prayer and Pastor Shanda laid hands on my right knee. I felt something happening when she did. I just started running on a regular basis again which I was recommended NOT to do by the doctor. I haven’t had any issues other than once in my opposite knee. I immediately spoke against it and it left and I had no more pain.

God is good :]
