make your list
During our prayer and fasting in January, Pastor Marie asked us to make a list what was lacking and what was debt. On my list was: To get my drivers license, pay back my loan, find a place to live, and buy a car.
7 days later, I got my driver’s license, and one week later, I had the money to pay back my loan for my plane ticket. (My loan was $1000.00) Two months later, a friend and I found a place to live, and the best part is that we didn’t need the co- signer to lease our apartment. Then, I bought my car, I paid six months of my car insurance, and I also paid $650.00 for my school.
In less than five months I got everything that was on my list. Sometimes things look like impossible for us, but with God everything is possible. So, declare the word of God, have a relationship with Jesus, be strong in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.
put us in your position, Father
My son is over in Iraq again and he is in the medical field so I felt he was always safe. He called and told me that a few weeks ago he started having to go back out in the streets again. We hung up and I thought that is not good and in the same breath said he is covered by the Blood and nothing will happen. Two weeks later they took him off the streets and he is back again in the hospital.
the Jesus change
I have been at this office for 5 years and did not care who I hurt, didn’t talk to people at work, they knew nothing about me as I did not want to be the gossip around the office, would tell someone off before thinking. However still worked hard and did my job so they kept me. My kids and I were having problems, I was having a year long pitty party and it was all about me and nothing was going right. I was giving my problems to God and wanting him to fix things but then I would take the problem back and put the problem and me in a bubble and no one could get into my bubble, you wouldn’t have been able to get through with a chisel and then I wondered why God was not answering any of my prayers and why he wasn’t there for me.
One day he gave me a picture of him with his arms out for me to come in and me with my back to him. For the last year people at work have noticed that I have changed, I never raise my voice I treat everyone with kindness and I just don’t let the day to day stuff get to me. Now, when I do get a little stressed out, I think what did I do differently and usually it’s because I did not ask for His guidance.
I have had people ask me what is changed in my life and I tell them about my church and my Jesus. I have had people that did not know me tell me how great it was to work with me. Praise God He has changed my life!
God’s got my problems
I have been going to church since I was a little girl, and thought I had a good life and that I knew God. My brother passed away from cancer, and two years later, my sister passed away from cancer and then three years ago my father passed away from Lou Gherrit’s disease. I stopped going to church, I was mad at God and I didn’t want anything to do with God.
Then one Saturday God said, you are doing all you can to not disappoint your daddy and your daddy is not the one that can get you in heaven. I went to my daughter and said I think it’s time to go back to church.
She started to come to Life with a friend and wanted me to try the church out. I felt at home immediately. Since coming to this church I have learned so much, I know to give my problems to God and not take them back. He has them, I know it’s being taken care of.
Pain-free child birth!
In my confession for a supernatural childbirth, I declared no morning sickness, and it went away. In fact, I had to look down every day at my belly and realize I was pregnant. I worked hard and felt great. I also had a sciatic nerve pain, which went away once I had hands laid on me and we told the baby to move away from the nerve.
I declared no swelling in my feet which came to pass. After the birth, any little bit of swelling went away within a day. The doctor said I had a positive test for Group B Strep, which could harm the baby, so Pastor Marie laid hands on me and felt the Holy Spirit move. I also asked God to tell me the sex of the baby in a dream, and He told my mother-in-law in a dream that night, that it was a girl. My husband had a dream that she had blonde hair, she does.
I had a cervical exam in which the doctor said I was only one centimeter dilated and to come back in a week. I went outside and said “Baby, you are coming out today or sooner than a week!” She came that night. For delivery, I declared the labor to be 3 ½ hours long. My water broke at 5:50 p.m. and the baby was born at 9:48 p.m. It was a pain-free, easy, short, and natural delivery. The contractions felt like tightening of the abdomen and the intensity rose as the baby pushed toward the canal. The nurse looked at me often, and said, “I know you are having a contraction right now, but you’re just lying there, smiling.” Once the doctor arrived, he said he would come back in thirty minutes because I was at 8 cm I said no, she’s coming now. He checked, and I was 10 cm.
I pushed and felt no pain. I could feel the baby coming out, just pressure in that area. The baby was posterior, facing up. The doctor said she was looking up at God, she’s a preacher. I had declared one push, which they said it would have been if she wasn’t face up. They told me 80-90% of posterior births require a Caesarean section. But God’s mercy allowed me to push her through pain-free. The only discomfort was the power outage in the hospital causing the air conditioning to turn off. I was so hot. Then when the adrenaline rush came after the delivery, I was very cold and shaky. The nurse said it would last a couple of hours, but I stopped shaking after 30 minutes.
The baby was not given to me to breastfeed immediately, because she swallowed meconium and needed NICU and observation. They said they would keep her in there for 4 hours, but I was able to pick her up after an hour and a half. She was doing great. She is calm and quiet. She smiled on her second day.
Now it’s on to Proactive Parenting!
short and sweet!
Missy (my daughter) bought a house that had been stripped down to the walls-everything had to be redone. The house had no water. It had a well but the water pump wouldn’t work and she couldn’t get anyone to get it to work. So she took some anointing oil and poured it into her well, the pump started working and she has had water ever since! Praise God!
God’s got a plan for your family
A few years ago, Pastor Tracy counseled me how to pray for our children, who were not walking in Christ. She told me to confess the Word over them, and to pray in tongues for them daily. I have done this consistently since then. I walk about 5 days a week, and that is my time to make confessions for our kids, and to pray in tongues.
About 3 years ago, one of our sons was in a serious car accident, and walked away from it unharmed. A bystander wearing a shirt that said, “Jesus saves” told him that he had witnessed the accident and didn’t see how he could possibly have walked away from it without injury. This incident opened up the door for our son to finally be open to talk about salvation, and a few weeks later, we prayed with our son for his salvation.
He lives in the Lake Tahoe area, and loves to ski. He met a girl on the slopes about 2 years ago. We met her in February, and my first impression wasn’t good. She didn’t have any faith at all. Our son came home in May and asked me what I thought about her. After a long discussion, I asked my son, “Do you talk about important stuff, like your faith, and the desires of your heart?” He responded with, “Not really, but we just really have fun together.” He went home and talked! He and she both came home later that summer. He told me that he had started going to a non-denominational church with her, and that they really liked it. One of the prayers I had prayed during that time was that God would place laborers in the paths of my children. Well, a man named Lee moved to Tahoe and works with our son. He used to be a pastor, and has a tremendous heart for the Lord. He’s the one that took them to this church.
One day on this summer visit, our son’s girlfriend came into the kitchen one afternoon while I was getting dinner. With tears, she asked me, “Will you please talk to me about Jesus? I don’t even know what to ask, but I know that I want to know Him”. She had a paperback NIV bible that the church had given her. We spent a lot of time talking that week, and before she left, she prayed for her salvation.
He and she continue to attend this church. They are also involved in a bible study with their mentor, Lee, and many of their friends who they have also brought to the church. They were baptized together in Lake Tahoe! Our son even sings in the choir (another prayer answered, that our children will give their gifts and voices to the Lord through praise and worship!)
Our son’s girlfriend has grown up spiritually really quickly, (even more than he). The last time we visited, I saw her come home from work with her purse and her Bible. She frequently e-mails or calls me with questions or prayer requests. I started talking to her about the baptism of the Holy Spirit. She wasn’t sure about it, but the next time she visited, she told me her testimony of being filled with the Holy Spirit with the Bible evidence of speaking in tongues.
Our son just bought a diamond for her, and plans to propose on the slopes in February! All of those confessions, “God has set aside a Christian husband or wife for each of my children. They will not be unequally yoked with unbelievers,” is coming to pass! Praise my God!
Empowered to prosper
With all the negative emphasis on the economy today I feel strongly compelled to share this brief testimony on how God and his Word hold true and how God has empowered us to prosper in any economy and differentiate us from the world.
A little while ago Pastor Dino was encouraging the congregation to consider supporting the Come Home to Life television program. I was moved in my spirit and committed myself to giving an offering from the profit from my business. I wrote out a giving envelope and put it on my desk as a reminder knowing it would be months before all the tax papers would come from the accountant for the year end financials. This year I was able to write the check for a tithe of our profit. The check was only for $900.00 but I sewed it in belief that God would give me a 100 fold return for my commitment. In the following month we had our best month ever and reaped a 100% return generating $90,000.00 in gross sales for the month.
Despite the economy, we had a record year (which is hard to do after 14 years of being in business). And although the economy has fallen to record lows, we will once again have a record year exceeding our sales from last year. I believe that our success in this economy is directly related to my commitment to tithing. Even though I still miss the mark (often) He is faithful to his Word.
Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, And whose hope is in the Lord. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.
Scripture confirmed by:
He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.
